Anti-Patterns

In layman term, anti-patterns are pitfalls. Solutions which are needed to be created again and again to overcome a problem.

I would be going into detail of anti-patterns in my course work as to how anti-patterns have evolved and how they have benefited the software industry.

Goodday.

Hi
From my research another name for anti-patterns is pitfalls. For me antipatterns are a commonly occurring solution to a problem that generates decidedly negative consequences.
You might be right by defining them as pitfalls because many developers will be trapped by using these bad solutions to problems.

Good luck in your course work.

Hai
Having done some research on Anti-Patterns, I would say that you have taken the stand of the author of the article in our course work. Anti-Patterns are not pitfalls, they are there to complement the patterns. They are there to come up with a solution for a bad solution. One thing is, Anti-Patterns start the journey from the solution. Notice here that if the solution is okay, then it indicates the presence of a good pattern, BUT if the solution is bad, then there is the absence of good pattern commonly known as Anti-Patterns.... Read about them and you may end up agreeing with me..AntiPatterns are great. Take care when critiquing the AntiPattern Question No 4

Thanks....
